¶ Contrary to enthusiasts like Athanasius Kircher in his Oedipus Aegytiacus and Thomas Browne, Pignorius (Lorenzo Pignoria) doubted the Egyptian origin of the Mensa Isiaca and the meaning of the images. According to Ebert (Ebert 16823) this third is the best edition of the Mensia Isiaca , because it is the first to has the folding plates of the bronze Tablet. The publisher Frisius dedicates the first work to Joan Blaeu, the cartographer and printer; the second part 'Magna deum ...' he dedicates to the sons, Willem and Petrus Blaeu.
